Astar Network
LiveThe onchain infrastructure layer. Supports EVM and WASM. Hosts dApp Staking, governance, and the ecosystem of projects that use ASTR as their utility token.
Explore the ecosystem
Astar is a web3 collective building products that bring users onchain and generate long-term value for ASTR.
The Collective
The onchain infrastructure layer. Supports EVM and WASM. Hosts dApp Staking, governance, and the ecosystem of projects that use ASTR as their utility token.
Explore the ecosystemThe finance product layer. Astar Fi and Astar Guard are the first two products in the Stack. Designed to bring users onchain through direct, self-custodial financial tools.
See the Stack
The consumer IP layer. Yoki Legacy is the live collectible game on Soneium. Yoki Arcade is the live onchain PvP gameplay platform. Both are built around Japanese folklore characters and ASTR utility.
Explore Yoki
Powers staking and governance on Astar Network, fuels DeFi across the ecosystem, runs the Astar Stack, and powers Yoki consumer products. Tokenomics 3.0 is live.
Understand ASTRHistory
Astar started as blockchain infrastructure and became something broader: a collective building products that create real onchain activity. Click an era to explore.
Sota Watanabe founds Stake Technologies in Japan. The focus: build the infrastructure for a multi-chain web3 future.
Stake Technologies ships Plasm Network, the team's first public product. A scaling solution targeting Polkadot, it establishes the developer community that Astar Network inherits the following year.
Astar wins a Polkadot parachain slot and goes live as one of the first EVM and WASM-compatible chains in the Polkadot ecosystem.
dApp Staking goes live: the first onchain mechanism to reward ecosystem builders with protocol-level emissions. Stakers back projects directly with ASTR.
Astar introduces XVM, enabling interoperability between EVM and WASM smart contracts within the same network.
Astar Network activates full WASM smart contract support, making it one of the first chains supporting both EVM and WASM in parallel.
Toyota hackathon, Shibuya City partnership, and Sony's Web3 incubation program establish Astar as the leading blockchain for Japan enterprise web3 adoption.
Astar zkEVM, built on Polygon's CDK, launches as a Layer 2 for Ethereum. Astar expands beyond the Polkadot ecosystem, targeting Japan enterprise use cases.
Astar announces its L2 direction. The Collective commits to expanding beyond its own chain to reach mainstream users where they already are.
Sony Block Solution Labs and Startale Group launch Soneium. ASTR is the primary collateral asset. Astar's role expands beyond its own chain for the first time.
Astar formalises as a Collective, shifting from chain-operator positioning to a broader mandate: build products that generate onchain activity and long-term ASTR value.
Yoki Origins, Season 1 of the Collective's consumer IP, launches on Astar zkEVM. Partnerships with CASIO, JAL, JR Kyushu, and Twin Planet bring Japanese culture onchain for the first time.
Season 2 of Yoki launches on Soneium with native ASTR integration. Players mint capsules, collect and fuse Yoki characters, and complete their Notebook. Each character is rooted in Japanese folklore.
ASTR becomes accessible across the Superchain through Chainlink's CCIP bridge, extending the token's reach beyond Polkadot and Soneium.
Tokenomics 3.0 passes governance. Emission decay is introduced, inflation ceiling reduced to 5.5%, and ASTR's long-term supply converges toward ~10B.
The Astar Collective Season (ACS) campaign launches, the first coordinated community programme under the Collective structure. Participants earn recognition across ecosystem activity.
ASTR governance transitions fully onchain. The four councils (Main, Technical, Community, and Finance) become the active decision-making layer for the Collective.
The Astar Portal is rebuilt from scratch, consolidating governance, dApp Staking, and ecosystem tooling into one interface. Tokenomics 3.0 goes live: dApp Staking restructures to 16 curated projects in two tiers, one annual cycle. Emissions begin decaying.
Yoki Arcade goes live as an onchain PvP mini app hub inside Startale App. Wave 1 launches with Jan-Ken-Pon: commit-reveal elemental duels with ASTR match pools.
Astar Fi V1 launches: the onchain personal finance interface and the first product in the Astar Stack. Save, Earn, and Invest go live.
Astar Guard, the safety and risk monitoring layer for the Astar Stack, follows in Q4 2026. The Collective's full product chapter is underway.

The Collective splits work across roles and aligns through onchain governance. The Foundation leads product execution and ecosystem coordination. Core contributors support the network and run Burndrop. Four councils and ASTR holders govern onchain.
The Foundation leads the Collective. Branding, communications, business development, ecosystem strategy, and direct execution of the Astar Stack (Astar Fi and Astar Guard) and Yoki (Yoki Legacy and Yoki Arcade).
The contributors behind day-to-day execution. Startale Group supports network infrastructure and leads Burndrop. Developers, node operators, and infrastructure providers keep Astar Network reliable.
Governance runs onchain through four councils: Main, Technical, Community, and Finance. ASTR holders vote directly, with dApp Staking positions counting toward voting weight.
